I am currently working on this book but am having writers' block right now. Enjoy what I have so far!
Yensid Land

Introduction
My name is Angela Summers and it's my first day at "Yensid High" in Yensid, Spielton. I don't know who I am, or why I'm here. I am incredibly nervous since this is a school where all the fairytale characters go to. The only problem is, I don't know if I am a fairytale character or not or which fairytale character I am. I had so much trouble sleeping last night, I was almost late for my first day of school. I fixed my midnight black hair into a beautiful French braid pretty well, if I do say so myself, gobbled up some breakfast, and put on the school's uniform code. It was a plain royal blue polo shirt and grass green plaid skirt, with royal blue and white in it.
When I got to school, I saw my best friends Christie and Cassidy Andrews. They're both sisters, except Christie's older by 2 years. They have totally different personalities. For example, Christie is a more casual kind of person and Cassidy is more of a girly girl. Christie is a tall girl with short blonde hair. Cassidy is smaller than Christie, she has long brown hair, and hazel nut colored eyes with a bit of magenta.
We greeted each other before class started during first period. Our teacher, a skinny woman with a bony figure, had her hair tied in a long, blonde, ponytail. She sat at her desk in her burgundy pantsuit and told us to write down an essay saying who we are and what talent we have.
Of course, I put down something like "I don't know what fairytale character I am, nor what my talent is." I was so nervous during our writing time and my hand kept shaking. I looked around the room, other students jotted down a bunch of stuff on their papers. Mine only had a sentence! Ms. Charleston, apparently that was her name, told us to hand our papers in at the back of the room. I got up from my seat, waiting for the other kids to put theirs away. They were stapling their papers together and everything. I gulped and tucked a piece of hair in the back of my ear. Finally I reached the front of the line, flipping the paper over so no one could see it, and dumped it in the basket.
Mr. FairyTale, the principal of the school, supposedly read everyone's essay. He was particularly interested in my essay, which only has one sentence, and so he called me up to his office. I was a bit nervous because I thought I did something wrong. I followed the criteria, I think... I knocked on the door and stepped in. "Please sit down Angela," Mr. FairyTale said. I looked around the room. His walls were painted an awkward shade of green, or maybe a dark teal. He had degrees and certificates on his walls. Boy was he a neat freak! His files were neatly placed in their separate book shelves with his actual books in a totally different one. His desk was in the center of the room, and he had a great view of the play yard. He was currently tapping his fingers on his mahogany desk.
I sat in a comfortable chair that matched his, then said, "I'm sorry, but did I do something wrong?"
"No, no, not at all. It's just, I read your essay, and I'm curious because everyone at this school knows who they are and what their talent is. So how do you not know who you are and what your talent is?" he asked me with a concerned expression on his face.
"Um, w-well, I-I'm not so sure...it's hard to explain," I stuttered.
He nodded and held out his hand while saying, "I'll tell you what, I will give you this whole school year to figure out who you are and what your talent is. Ok?" I nodded and shook his hand. I got up and left the office.
As soon as I got back to the classroom I ran into Cassidy, causing her to clumsily dump her books onto the floor, and told her about my problem. She and her sister wanted to tag along with me on my quest to find out who I am. We talked about it during lunch.
"Did Principal FairyTale give you... the look?" Christie asked concerned.
"No, of course not." I replied to her.
"Then what happened?" Christie impatiently asked.
"He just said I have until the end of the school year to figure out who I really am."
"Oh," Cassidy rested her head on her left hand and sighed. Christie just giggled to herself. Wonder what she's thinking about. "Could we bring Dylan too?" she asked, breaking the awkward silence. "Um. Sure?" I told her in a confused tone. She smiled widely and ate the rest of her salad.
THE NOTE
We all met up after school, I quickly went back to my locker to get some books I needed for homework, then I found an odd note, "FI OUY TNAW OT DNIF TUO OHW EIGNA SI, OG OT EHT ECALP EREHW SNOGARD PEELS."
I examine the note carefully, trying to figure out what its saying, then I realize everything in the note is spelt backwards. We all think about a plan during lunch time and decide to go to the cove. Dylan whispers into my ear, "the cove is where the dragons live." His warm breath tickled my ear, I tried not to laugh, but it was hard since I am insanely ticklish. I stared at him shocked, how did he know that? He looks the other way, finger combing his hair to the side.
We meet up with Red, a beautiful girl with pale skin, full red lips, and jet black hair. She usually got confused for me, I had her features but looked different from her with my style of clothing. She tucks her hands into her red hoodie pockets and stares into my eyes, "something wrong, Angela?" "No. We need you to do us a favor," "sure, anything," "can you keep note and make sure nothing happens while we're gone?" "Sure thing, careful out there though," "thanks, see ya Red." She embraces me into a big hug and turns around on the heel of her boots. Walking away quietly.
We all pack up for the big day and leave. My stepmother hesitates at first before I leave and then gives me permission. We all meet up at the cove and find another mysterious note. "WELL, WELL. YOU HAVE FIGURED OUT MY WAY OF NOTES. HERE'S ANOTHER HINT: OG OT EHT ECALP EREHW SDIAMREM GNIS, TUB HCTAW TUO, FI UOY BRUTSID MEHT, UOY DLUOW EB YRROS." When we finish reading the note, we realize that it is HOT! "Anyone else feel hot in here?" Cassidy asks, taking off her pink laced sweater and neatly placing it in her backpack. "Sorry, should I leave?" Dylan asks smoothly, "you're so..." "Charming?" "Annoying."
We turn around to continue walking. A big roar comes out from deeper in the cave. We have awoken a dragon. I spot a sword within the rocks and stones. As I'm running towards it, my friends are completely frozen with fear. I pick it up and run back towards them and attempt to protect them.
Dylan snatches the sword from my hand. I look at him with a confused and shocked expression. I'm trying to save you here! Hello! The dragon's big scaly hand holds me from my waist, raising me higher and higher from the ground, I let out a big scream. "HELP!" I yell as Dylan runs toward the dragon. He leaps off a big stone and stabs the dragon in his heart. The dragon's grip loosens and I fall on my knees trying hard breathe. The dragon possibly squished my lungs. Dylan's eyes meets mine, and my cheeks blush. He smirks at me and helps me up. I stand there, his hands still closed in mine, quickly I realize this and slip my sweaty palm out. We stand there pretending like nothing happened. Cassidy hugs me, continuously asking me if I'm hurt or anything. I watch as Dylan makes his way back to Christie, suddenly feeling a bit jealous.
We thought about where mermaids could sing, but we couldn't name a place. Christie thinks about texting Red to ask what has been happening at school. She creates a group chat with Red and adds us in it. Red explains that the latest lesson is about Mermaids. We ask where Mermaids sing and Red says in Neverland and to get there, you have to go to the docks and take the ship.
It takes us a couple of hours but we finally make it over to the docks, and we got into a ship. I was surprised that Dylan knew how to steer a ship, but I suppose if you were a boy and lived by the docks you'd want to learn. I ask whose it was but no one gave me an answer. Christie finds a huge box on the ship and we realize it was filled with emergency supplies. There was food, weapons, armory, usual boat stuff. We enter in the destination and go to Neverland.
When we finally arrived to Neverland, we hiked to the Mermaid Lagoon, in order to find the next clue of my memories. Cassidy continuously complaining about how this was ruining her brand new converse's, while Christie and Dylan are chatting and laughing behind us. The scene in that cave continuously played over and over again in my mind. I don't like Dylan, that's ridiculous! "Then the store clerk woman rudely interrupts my little prancing around in my not-yet-bought shoes and says if I don't pay for it I can't have it! Can you believe that! How dare she! Ugh! Angie? Angie, are you even listening?" Cassidy asks.
We finally got there a few hours later, even though it felt like days with everyone's endless chattering.
THE MERMAIDS
Cassidy got over excited, "I cannot believe we are going to meet the mermaids!" she shrieked. She was in love with Neverland, especially all the stories she hears about Peter Pan. Apparently he was a young boy who stayed in Neverland for years and never grew up. He sounded quite charming though.
We walked down many paths until we finally reached the Mermaid Lagoon. Dylan found the next note at the edge of the trail. It said, "SO YOU CAME, THE NEXT HINT IS: OG EREHW GNIHTON SI YRANIDRO." It took a while for us to figure it out, since we were exhausted, so we took a break. Cassidy walked down the little rock path in the mermaids area so she could get a better look at them. They were majestic, beautiful, creatures.
"I got it!" Dylan yelled, surprising everyone, even the mermaids. One by one the mermaid made horrific sounds and tried drowning Cassidy. "Help!" Cassidy yelled, almost slipping into the dark water. She kept yelling and yelling, so Dylan takes out the bow and arrow that was left in the cargo of the ship. Continuously tried shooting the mermaids, but it doesn't do anything. All it does is make things worse! The mermaids screamed with their high pitched voices and instantly morphed into an ugly creature.
The ugly glop of mermaids, let out a big screech and clutches Cassidy in their tentacles. Cassidy screams in pain, "help!" Christie gets stressed out and almost faints from shock that her younger sister is about to get killed. All of a sudden a figure swoops in and grabs Cassidy. Dylan continues to shoot his arrows, and for some reason the monsters morph into mermaids again. Beautiful mermaids. "Oh hello Peter!" The mermaids call out, as the figure and Cassidy are swept up into the sky.
"Where's Cassidy?" I ask, before she appears in front of me with a boy. The boy has Cassidy held in a bridal kind of way. "Are you alright, Wendy?" the boy asks Cassidy. "Oh my! You're Peter Pan!" Cassidy says to him, "and I'm not Wendy, I'm Cassidy." Peter Pan puts her back down gently, "oh I'm sorry. I thought you were Wendy Darling," he chuckles. Cassidy is giggling at this point. "Who are you?" I ask him, a bit rudely. "Oh, I'm Peter Pan! King of Neverland!" He says in a childish voice, "who are you guys?" We introduce ourselves and explain to him why we're here.
"Peter! Yoo hoo!" The mermaids call out again, "oh, hello girls!" Peter says. "Who are they, Peter?" one mermaids asks, in a disgusted tone, obviously referring to us. "Oh them? They're just visitors," he replies, "who's she?" another one asks, this time talking about Cassidy. "She's Cassidy," he tells them, "oh. You here that girls, the ugly wench is named Cassidy," another mermaid giggles. "Excuse me!" Cassidy says, sounding hurt. "You're the one we tried to kill. We don't let hags in the Mermaid Territory!" the mermaid says, "a hag? Pardon me! I thought mermaids were suppose to be lovely!" "Only pretty people can visit the mermaids, dear," the mermaid laughs at her. "I think she's pretty," Peter says politely, "Peter!" the mermaids gasp.
"I'm a bit tired, and there's no way I'm sleeping in a stupid boat again!" Christie interrupts. Peter guides us to his hideout for us to get some rest. Once we get there he explains that the Lost Boys were with the Indians and we could use their beds. "Are you sure you're not Wendy?" Peter asks Cassidy, they were sitting on Peter's hammock. "Yes, Peter," "you look a lot like her, except your hair is longer," "I do?" "Uh huh! You even have the same bow in your hair." I got a little bored of their conversation so I directed my attention to the hide out. It was a tree hideout, with lots of fur on the walls.
Dylan and Christie have spent a lot of time on this adventure together, could they be dating? Why would I care? Would that effect our friendship? I thought we would be best friends for life, that wouldn't work if she's dating my crush and I only friended her sister. Wait. Did I say crush? No. I meant the boy who risked his life to save mine. Like a prince! Except, he's not a prince, he's Dylan.
Besides, what did girls even see in Dylan? He's not even that handsome, yet girls drool over him 24/7. Sure, he has nice blue eyes, and dark chocolate brown hair. His smile isn't that bad...
As I got distracted a bright yellow light flashed in my eyes, and I flipped back in the chair. "What in the world was that?" I ask, trying to rub away the pain. Peter and Cassidy laugh hysterically. "That was Tinkerbell! She's a fairy that lives here in the hideout with us," "what is that sound?" I said, emphasizing on the bell kind of sound. "She's talking," he said, "what's she saying?" "She says that you sat on her tinkering project," "oh!" I quickly sat up and saw a button, a piece of paper, and a leaf. "I'm sorry, Tinkerbell," I whispered.
Finally it was time to go to bed, and once we woke up we ask him a few questions about what place isn't ordinary. "Have you checked Wonderland?" he asked, "Wonderland?" "Yes. It's a magical place with crazy mad people. C'mon! I'll take you!" He grabs Tinkerbell and powders some pixie dust all over us. He grabs Cassidy's hand, which I don't understand since she could fly on her own, and directs us to Wonderland.
"Peter, will I ever see you again?" Cassidy asks him, "of course! I promise to visit you in Yensid once you're done with your adventure," he says childishly, which makes Cassidy giggle, then hands her two pouches and a Neverland nut. "This pouch is filled with Pixie Dust, and the other one is filled with death powder," "what's the nut for?" "It was the kiss Wendy returned to me, she told me she was growing up and wanted me to give it to someone special," "thank you, Peter." With that he flew back to Neverland.
THE CHANGERS
I wonder where the next clue would be because the note never said where it was in Neverland. As we walked towards the path to get into Wonderland, I realized that the flowers were ginormous! There were cracked tea cups, and mushrooms, scattered all over the floor. Christie found a piece of cake that had a note on it saying, "TAE A ELTTIL TIB FO SIHT DNA DNIF EHT TSERAEN EERT." It seemed a bit strange, but we each took a bite out of the cake and we grew bigger and taller. "Okay, I know that I've always wanted to be tall, but not this tall!" Christie shrieks in surprise. Since Cassidy took a smaller bite than the rest of us she wasn't as tall, but she did find a small little bottle with another note on it. "KNIRD SIHT DNA OG OT EHT ELTSAC. ECNO UOY TEG EREHT, EHT TXEN EULC SI GNIOG OT EB NI EHT DAM SRETTAH TAH."
Christie kept the small cookie and bottle in her bag, and we walked to the kingdom walls. "Dude, we're way too tall to fit through that little door," Dylan says with a laugh. Then Christie opens her bag again and takes out the bottle, we each took a sip and we were our normal heights. "Interesting," she said. We noticed all the crazy things in this kingdom too, animals talked, houses were upside down, streets were curvy instead of straight. We strolled down the towns, through the creepy forests, and finally we awed at a tremendous castle. "Is there like a pretty Wonderland princess we should be knowing about?" Christie asks a bit confused. "No, there's a Queen of Hearts," "is she nice?" "Sure...."
We went into the castle and once we got in, we couldn't get out! The guards blocked the doors. What the heck! We ran down the halls looking for that stupid hat but we were stopped by the Queen of Hearts. "Who are you, children, and why are you in MY CASTLE?" she says, raising her voice to add emphasis that it was her castle. "Nothing, Queen of Hearts," I tell her, trying not to get into too much trouble. "Call me, Your Majesty," "yes, your majesty," "and open your mouth when you talk dear! You keep mumbling, I hate mumbling!" "Yes, your majesty," "and your clothes! You look like you just came from the village!" She said, very insulting. How odd, I picked this out from the mall myself. She called her royal suitors and dressed us up in red and white clothing.
"What do we do?" I ask Cassidy, three of us girls stood in one big dressing room as the suitors fixed our dresses. "I'm not sure, but these outfits are lovely!" she says. I would beg to differ, but I'm incredibly tired. I thought we looked ridiculous. They had us in this puffy red dress, with white embroidery on the end of the skirt, and white tulle. On the bodice part of the dress was black lace. She made us where these odd black heels with black bows on it.
"Are those girls ready?" The Queen of Hearts asks in her proper British tone. The royal suitors nod yes and we finally come out of that stuffy dressing room. "My! You look marvelous, much better than whatever you were wearing before!" I really don't get why she's doing all of this. "Anyone who wants to visit my castle, has to wear the proper clothing you know."
Dylan comes out of the boys dressing room in a black suit, with a red bow tie. Not fair! Why does he get to wear something so... simple! I stare at his outfit for a while, anything fancy? No. "Like what you see?" He asks as redness poured into my cheeks. He just smiles in a conceited way and looks around.
The Queen lets us take a tour around the castle and we find a door with a cute little hat on it. "I wonder where this one leads to," I say, as I opened the door. I peek my head through the door crack and see a small, blonde girl having tea with a strange man. "That's rude of you to welcome yourself to a tea party without an invitation!" the odd man says with a lisp. Then I notice my body is halfway in the room. Then the other come in as well. "I'm so sorry, but we're looking for something!" I explain to them. "Well no one knows more about hats than the Hatter," the blonde girl says, gesturing to the man. She had a much softer accent than the queen, she seemed very nice. "Thank you, Alice," he said, standing from his chair, "Mr. Mad Hatter, at your service!" Christie notices that Alice's attire looks a lot like a maid's uniform. "Do you work for the Queen?" she asks confused, "no.." Alice says awkwardly.
"WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN?" we hear the Queen yell from outside the door. Uh oh. "WHO ARE THEY WITH?" she continues, "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!" "Oh, dear!" Alice moans, "hurry Mister Hatter!" "I'm looking!" the Hatter says in his cartoony voice. He tosses out a bunch of weird hats from his trunk until he finally finds an old boring one. "Here you go," he says, handing the hat to us. He explains that the hat is a secret teleporter. All we had to do was hold the rim of the hat and say where we want to go. The four of us quickly form into a circle, as the Queen's voice grew louder and louder. "WHERE ARE THEY?"
We say our goodbyes to Alice and the Mad Hatter just as the Queen swings the door right open. "OFF WITH YOUR HEADS!" she yells as some dust forms around the room and we vanish. We read the note that says, "GOOD JOB SURVIVING HER, BUT THE NEXT PLACE IS WORSE. HERE'S THE HINT: OG OT EHT ECALP EREHW GNIHTYREVE SI TEW."
Before I could even open my eyes, I felt a pounce of water splash me from my back, then fell frontwards. The taste of salt water flooded into my mouth. It's good that I can swim, so I swam to the nearest shore and rested for a bit. When I woke up, I found myself still laying in the sand. Where are my friends? I decided to look around and look for them. On my way to the small town I found a beautiful castle! Maybe they were in there. I opened the huge and heavy doors, an elegant hallway filled with pictures of a small redheaded lady and a sailor. There were many flowers lined across the skinny hallway. The lady in the painting walked in and asked me why I was in her castle. "I'm really sorry, but I lost my friends. I was hoping they wondered off here or something," I explained, "Oh! Were they two girls and one boy?" "Yes! Do you know where they are?"
She introduced herself, her name was Ariel, and she was a princess. I followed her into a big dining room, my friends were standing there, dripping wet in their stupid outfits. "Finally," Dylan said with a huff of annoyance, then finger combed his hair. "Dylan, she could've drowned!" Christie said, "Sorry for my lack of concern, but I'm hungry."
After her butler served us some food, Ariel gave us a long tour of her palace and let us stay as her guests. Then, she finally came to the guest rooms. The girls had to share one, while Dylan got to have one all to himself. Someone please explain to me how this is fair, because I don't get it! At least she gave us a very nice room. In it was three neatly spread beds, a beautiful aquarium, a view of the ocean, and a set of big dressers. On top of the bed in the middle was a mermaid woman that looked quite similar to her.
"Is that you?" I ask, the stupid question slipped out of my mouth. She liked water so much, I assumed to think she was a mermaid. "Yes, it is," she giggled. Her bubbly attitude reminds me of Cassidy. My train of thoughts was stopped by Ariel, "what is up with those ridiculous outfits?" "Oh, we forgot to change into our normal clothes," "would you like to change into something a bit more.... Normal?" "Yes, please," She explained how no guest of hers should have to go through so much trouble, to wear something of that style.
"Why is everyone dressing us up? Geez!" Finally we were left alone. I looked for my suitcase, since it didn't end up at the beach, luckily, Ariel found them undamaged. I let out a sigh of relief that everything was still in there.
I was all dressed up in a fancy pink dress and in the back was a bow with a lighter version of the pink. Cassidy and Christie were dressed the same way. I giggled because I have always wanted to be a part of their twin life. Cassidy left the dressing room to go and get her phone. "So. How are things with you and Dylan?" Christie asked me with a slight smile on her face. "What?! How did you know?!" I shockingly questioned her. Christie laughed and said, "Oh, c'mon! Really?!" She laughed harder, but when Cassidy came back in the room
It was now time for dinner, so the butler called us out of our rooms to eat. It was steak with a side of mashed potatoes. The steak had a strong, juicy taste and the mashed potatoes were different in a way that it's the best potato I've ever had in my life compared to my mom's cooking.
Ariel excused us from the table to get ready for bed. I quietly got up from my chair, and I walked to my room.
